Did Trump Call Putin A Genius? An Opinion Piece on B.S. in the Media

With each serious event that occurs in this world, it has become common practice for both the far-left and the far-right to point the finger at each other and blame the other side. Media outlets have become nothing more than a clown show. I’m calling out FOX News, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, Washington Post, New York Times…ALL OF THEM.

Whether you remain Democrat or Republican, news channels spew out party-leaning propaganda and viewers entirely eat it up.

FOX news is going to pull you in the direction of “Trump is right and everything is Biden’s fault-btw did you know Biden potentially sh*t himself in front of the pope?” CNN will do the opposite.” Trump is an orange Cheeto who loves golf too much-did you see his hand shake a little when he picked up his water glass?!” It’s actually funny. It’s really, really funny. Sometimes I truly ask myself, is this a “Chapelle’s Show” re-run? Am I being “Punked” by Ashton Kutcher or what? Because the things that these networks say in order to manipulate viewers is pure comedic gold.

This is nothing new and I am not saying anything relatively shocking to you. If you are open-minded or independent, it’s relatively (extremely) easy to call out this B.S.

Unfortunately, not everyone has all the time in the world to “do their research”. They don’t have minutes or hours to dedicate to watching press conferences or senate hearings because they work, they have lives. They get the “Cliff notes” version from their mainstream media sources. To them, Primetime News equals facts. And depending on where the source of news is coming from, what they are hearing AND believing will be very different.

This is dangerous. Dangerous to both sides. Dangerous to America as a free-country. Instead of uniting together for the common good, we nit-pick, name call and accuse people as if we are in high school. (Except in high school, your classmates weren’t getting blown up in the court yard, right?)

It’s a huge game of telephone. And it’s all a bunch of bulls*t. He said this! She said that! He eats two scoops of ice cream!

Who cares? I get that some of this stuff actually is relative to America as a whole. But most of it is not. Most of it is just a bunch of frivolous B.S. meant to distract from the reality of what is going on in the world today. Because headlines sell papers, stories that evoke emotions draw in viewers. It’s all a game. And Americans feed right into it. We are not alone in this. The media is like this in every country. Whatever you’re watching, you are watching through a filter of how that network wants to portray things.

Americans are paying the price. We are putting gasoline on a fire that really does not need anymore fuel. Instead of uniting, we are dividing more and more. We are one nation. So why do we do this?

If someone messes up on the right, they should be held accountable. And if someone messes up on the left, same thing.

We need to stop taking things out of context. Whether Biden says it, or Trump says it. Whether it is the left or the right. Stop sensationalizing news stories by creating some bullshit narrative to win over viewers. Say it like it is, then let the people come to whatever conclusion they may. But don’t twist the story into something it isn’t.

With Ukraine and Russia at war, and the United States a part of NATO, we should be very concerned what is happening overseas right now in both countries. It is a sad day in Ukraine and Russia. A sad day for the whole entire world. Even sadder because instead of focusing on the issue, we are turning it into a blame game. A “he said”, “she said” dramatic gossip-fest that is frankly, disgusting, immature and ignorant.

It does not matter now. What matters is that there is a war overseas. Just because it is happening in a different country, doesn’t make it any less serious. As Americans, we should be binding together. We have become too soft as a country. We are ready to go to war with our fellow Americans over “pronouns” or “transgenders in the military” when NONE of it ensures our safety. Why?

There is a quote from a post-apocalyptic novel by the author G. Michael Hopf which reads:

“Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”

Really take a moment to think about that quote. And then brace yourself because I’m coming in to slap you with a little dose of reality. You ready for it?

We, as a society, are weak.

We have had way too many good times that we forget the reality of our world today. We forget that there are actual countries out there fighting for their lives on their home turf. We have become so safe, so free, and so sheltered that we create drama to entertain us, to sell newspapers and to reign in views.

In this post, I am not going to go into who I think is right and who is wrong or how I believe that keeping the Keystone Pipeline construction would have largely prevented this (Russia is getting tons of money right now because they are supplying all the energy. We were energy independent with Trump in office). And trust me, I do have a lot to say based on facts… Not on my love for Trump or Biden, nor my disdain for either. Not twisted words or quotes that are mashed together to create a story because it strokes my ego and reaffirms that I am “right”.

Sometimes in life you have to accept that you were wrong. It’s fine. Move along. But, We don’t want to be wrong about who we follow. Like rooting for a sports team, we want our team to win. We forget that this is not a game. Innocent lives overseas are being lost. It does not matter what party, what gender, or which sexual orientation is making the decision. It matters who is doing the right thing for the success and safety of our nation.

This post started with my intentions of posting the full quote from Donald Trump regarding the whole “genius” controversy, and to show how lame the mainstream media is, so let’s CIRCLE BACK to that (wink wink).

The media will show you “Trump says Putin is a genius” and “Putin is savvy! Says Trump”, but they won’t show you the full transcript unless you dig into it. (Why though? and where are the fact checkers here to explain that this has been entirely taken out of context? I’ve seen a little here and there. But nothing that entirely clarifies that Trump was not siding with nor praising Putin’s action.s) In fact, I have had many leftists tell me how once again Trump is siding with Russia. Whether this is a classic case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome”, blind ignorance or mere stupidity.. I do not know.

BUCK: Mr. President, in the last 24 hours we know Russia has said that they are recognizing two breakaway regions of Ukraine, and now this White House is stating that this is an “invasion.” That’s a strong word. What went wrong here? What has the current occupant of the Oval Office done that he could have done differently?

TRUMP: Well, what went wrong was a rigged election and what went wrong is a candidate that shouldn’t be there and a man that has no concept of what he’s doing. I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, “This is genius.” Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine. Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful.

So, Putin is now saying, “It’s independent,” a large section of Ukraine. I said, “How smart is that?” And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s strongest peace force… We could use that on our southern border. That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re gonna keep peace all right. No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy… I know him very well. Very, very well.

By the way, this never would have happened with us. Had I been in office, not even thinkable. This would never have happened. But here’s a guy that says, you know, “I’m gonna declare a big portion of Ukraine independent,” he used the word “independent,” “and we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.” You gotta say that’s pretty savvy. And you know what the response was from Biden? There was no response. They didn’t have one for that. No, it’s very sad. Very sad.

Now, if you read that quote. Great job. because a lot of people refuse to read the whole thing. They do not want to see something that could potentially prove them wrong, because it would crush their whole belief system or they are simply just lazy. But laziness, while simultaneously forming a strong stance on something, is ignorant.

Trump is merely stating (GO LISTEN TO THE VIDEO) that what Putin did with manipulating the situation, is in fact, savvy and somewhat genius. The irony of it lies in the fact that Putin was never going to “peace-keep” like he proclaimed. It’s like the Trojan Horse. Putin first declares the sovereignty of those nations and then moves in a whole military, without declaring war. He states that infiltrating the eastern border of Ukraine is merely to ‘guard the sovereignty’. He wasn’t guarding any sovereignty. He was moving in his guys to start a war, under the context of keeping the peace. This is no “peace-force” (no shit).

Anyone with a brain can read that quote and understand the context in which it was said. Hitler made some “genius” and “savvy” moves. Castro. Stalin too. Go down the line and list any dictator and same thing will apply. These assholes found a way to entirely manipulate hundreds of thousands of people. Entire countries. Genius manipulation tactics. Now, was it genius and “good”? No. Hell no. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t smart, savvy and cunning.

Don’t jump to take offense. Not everything is black and white. People can be smart and be evil. People can be good, and very dumb.

I encourage you to look objectively at things. Don’t look at it through a RED or BLUE lens. Don’t let the media tell you what happened. If there is a quote, follow up on it. If the quote is written, can you find the video proof of it to back it up? If you can, then what is the surrounding context in which it was said? Let’s look both sides, not just one. And lets stop focusing on what does not matter.

Further, after these events in Ukraine, I’d like to discuss one more thing.

“America First” is not a racist term. It’s not a white nationalist phrase like the media wants you to believe. America First means putting our citizens lives above all. America First does not mean being a dictator and involving ourselves in every other countries business. America First means protecting our borders. Not because we hate immigrants or skin color, because LOOK at Russia and Ukraine. Look at what is happening.

Yes, Ukraine and Russia have been fighting for years. This is nothing new. But Ukraine has officially been invaded as of yesterday. Invaded. If you think in terms of reality, you understand that this can happen anywhere. With cunning manipulation, so called ‘genius’ moves, money, a strong military, a psycho dictator and a will to conquer- it can happen. Right now? I doubt it.

But, with the United States alienating more and more countries by barging into their business affairs and territorial conflicts, lying about reasons to start wars, and pulling out at the WORST time (creating so much instability for a country that our men and women DIED to protect) – you have to admit, we are not on the best track. We need to change and we need to re-direct our attention towards issues that actually MATTER. Not whether or not your a he/she/ze, not whether or not Harry and that one lady with brown hair (seriously what is her name??? let me google… MEGAN MARKLE) were super oppressed in their palace because KaTe MiDdLeToN mAdE mE CrY. Like STFU. We can discuss these topics, but do they matter? Really. Do they matter? Ask the people in Ukraine how much those topics matter to them right now.

Lastly, instead of being accusatory towards the other political party and generalizing everything, be more open minded. Ask yourself. Does this make sense-what the media is forcing down my throat? Does this other political party believe in border security because they hate immigrants? Or do they want to protect America from events like what we are seeing in Europe? Do they believe in voter ID because they are white supremacists? Or do they want to uphold democracy, strengthen our election process, and minimize any sort of interference? Do these people believe in the 2nd amendment because they want more mass shootings? Or do they understand that the right to bear arms and protect oneself is vital and necessary? (Check this Facebook post from the Ukraine’s Official Defense Ministry, asking its citizens to prepare Molotov Cocktails in case the enemy invades) Do they hate the environment? Or do they believe that billionaire oligarchs like Soros and the Bloombergs are pushing green energy because they are the biggest investors in it and it’s mainly an elitist power play? Do they want to give a big middle finger to every other country by leaving the Paris Climate Accord because they only care about America? Or was the Paris Climate Accord one of the worst deals ever, and they wanted to re-negotiate the terms so we weren’t wasting OUR American tax dollars on a deal that put Americans LAST and China first? Think logically versus emotionally.

I love nothing more than a good analogy, so let’s envision it this way. I’m super into dog rescue. I would love to take in any and every dog that I could. But I can’t. It breaks my heart. I am sick to my stomach seeing these posts of dogs about to be euthanized and knowing I can’t do anything to stop it. I have people send me dogs and ask me, “Can you please help them?” Guess what…I can’t. I really can’t. I’m not mean, I’m not proud of it. But I am realistic. It would be insane to think I can just run around literally saying “yes” to every dog that needs a home. It’s impossible. Now, if I end up getting a large plot of land, then I can start to think of adding more dogs. Until then, nope. It’s same with our country, on a much grander scale.

BTW, I’m not comparing humans to dogs, so don’t be a nut job and draw that conclusion that I’m saying immigrants are dogs or something. Substitute me and dogs for any similar situation. A mom wanting to adopt more kids. I don’t know-use your imagination. The same thing that applies to us as individuals also applies to our country as a whole. We cannot take on more than we can handle. The United States needs to focus FIRST on America. Once we are fully, fully secure, then we can run around trying to take every problem on like we are some superhero. But we aren’t. We are suffering. So America First, isn’t a “mean” Nationalist term. It’s reality. It’s crucial to our nation’s success and overall existence in the long term.

Our inflation and homelessness are just two topics that we need to fix. But instead of focusing on eliminating these issues, we make them worse through shitty initiatives like this “harm reduction” drug program. Spending money to actually assist addicts in their addiction, yet masking it as a way to help them. We print more money that we don’t have to give to other countries programs. To go out and fight other countries wars. Driving down the value of the American dollar every step of the way.

We have no right to be spreading ourselves so thin. We are hurting ourselves and America’s future. The sad part is, that we aren’t even the one’s in control. We aren’t making these huge decisions. A few elected, nut jobs are. And we have to follow along. (really though, would you listen to anything these politicians said regarding your own life? like would you want Pelosi or McConnell telling you what’s up? I sure as hell wouldn’t.)

Unfortunately that is how our world works. So, it is our duty and responsibility to make sure we KNOW what we are talking about and KNOW what we believe in. That we base our knowledge and beliefs on FACTS. Legitimate facts. Not on emotion. Not on a sob-story that is twisted to get some tear-jerker reaction that translates to more network views or more votes for a political party.

Do not rely on the media. Left, Right…they are all coming at it from a pre-determined angle. It’s up to you to look into it. Fact-check the fact-checkers. If you don’t have time to, then the responsible thing is to be quiet and stop spreading misinformation and unnecessary hatred towards a political party when it is substantially based off falsities.

My rant is over.

TLDR VERSION//MORAL OF THE STORY: Don’t allow any media source or politician to manipulate you. Don’t take the right’s word or the left’s word. And do not turn real life, serious world events into some drama filled high-school/Euphoria-style B.S. play filled with gossip, rumors and exaggerations. It’s not only ignorant, it is extremely dangerous.
