Watch out world. It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane, and no- it isn’t Superman. It’s AnnaLynne McCord. Hollywood Actress. 90210 re-run character. Poetic Genius. She’s got the talent, she’s got the curls, and she wants to be Putin’s mother.
If you haven’t seen the video-I highly encourage you to watch. Actually, I demand you to watch.
Her plea to Putin was not meant to cause any harm, and it didn’t. But you have to admit, it’s a pretty tone-deaf thing to post when innocent humans are getting blown to pieces overseas. I understand poetry. I know it’s not supposed to be taken literally. It’s supposed to be some beautiful, heartfelt plea. But critics claim it actually trivializes the severity of the situation, as if our solution to every problem is: celebrities.
Either way, I find these types of cries for help or unity from Hollywood actors and actresses-absolutely hilarious.
For just over 2 minutes and 20 seconds in the video shared Thursday, McCord delivered rhyming verses about how she wishes she could have been the Russian leader’s mother because he would have “been so loved” that he wouldn’t resort to violence.
Parodies have since come out on Twitter:
At one point during the video, McCord said she would have died for Putin if she were his mother, placing herself smack dab in the middle of a conflict that many felt shouldn’t have involved a Hollywood actress.
Twitter, as always, meme-d and trolled hard in the comment section of McCord’s videotaped plea.
And as usual, the internet did not disappoint.
Mama Putin (AKA Ms McCord) has since explained the reasoning behind her video.
“I know how I could easily have moved in the direction of becoming a dictator myself,” McCord told BuzzFeed News when asked about “Dear Vladimir Putin: If I Was Your Mother. “If certain circumstances of my life were different, were I a little less bent toward healing and more toward vindication, I could have been a darkly powerful person.”
People were quick to make the comparison between McCord’s “Putin Poem” and Gal Gadot and companys’ “Covid Cry”
I understand the message behind Mama Putin’s poetic masterpiece. And Gal Gadot’s. I really do. They had good intentions. But it still doesn’t change the fact that I will continue to laugh at them, hard, for continuing to do things like this. (Please continue to do things like this guys. PLEASE. I AM BEGGING YOU. It brings immense joy and provides light at the end of a dark tunnel for all Americans.)
PS. Mama Putin previously made another video regarding George Floyd (she wrote Geore but I think that is what she meant) and what she would do if she were President.
And there you have it folks. AnneLynn McCord, saved by Hollywood. Had she not been on Nip/Tuck she could be invading foreign nations right now. She could have been a dictator, guys. AnneLynn McCord, single handedly tackling all of our world’s problems like a BOSS. I vote we put her in charge of the Space Force.
